Office refurbishment for NHS in Nottingham
Astra Carpets Contract Department completes major office refurbishment in Nottingham
The Contracts Department at Astra carpets & Flooring have just completed the flooring for the refurbishment of the NHS Health & Social Care Centre at Park House, Carlton in Nottingham.
The project was made more difficult because the busy office had to operate normally during working hours. Contracts Director Patrick Galligan explains how the work was carried out.
We could only gain access to the offices after 6 pm. The first task was to remove all the furniture, prior to lifting the existing flooring. We then had to fully prepare the sub floor before the new flooring was put down.
Our task was made more difficult because we had to finish by 2am in the morning. For this reason, the work was broken down in to manageable areas over four nights. Our fitting teams worked very efficiently and we managed to have the floor laid and the furniture back in place before the deadline.
High grade carpet tile was specified
Gradus Bodega Heavy Wear carpet tiles were specified for the office refurbishment. One of the reasons that this tile was chosen is because of its low snagging capabilities when castor chairs are used.
Working in Partnership with Johns of Nottingham
The main contractor for the Park House project was refurbishment specialists Johns of Nottingham. Astra Carpets Contracts Department is currently working on an extensive programme of NHS refurbishments with Johns of Nottingham throughout the East Midlands.
